Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services? ChatGPT’s Bias And Creativity Put To Test.

Is ChatGPT the Future of Work? Examining its Capabilities and Potential Impact on Professions such as Programming, Law, and Poetry

Context

Both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are two leading Cloud-Computing platforms. With ChatGPT’s raging popularity for being an advanced NLP chatbot, and the notorious rumors around its capabilities, it would be fun to see if it can truly come through.

To put it to test, I asked ChatGPT to write me 3 poems and analyzed its response.

Analysis

Poetries reek of repetition.

ChatGPT returned almost identical poems for both Azure and AWS. Perhaps because they are both around the same topic: Cloud Computing Platform? Moreover, it kept regurgitating the same poems multiple times, even when the request was tweaked. Please refer to Figure 1 and 2 for reference.

Write a poem about Microsoft Azure

ChatGPT:

Request 2:

Write a poem about Amazon Web Services

ChatGPT:

Writings seem relatively unbiased.

When asked for a face-off poetry between Azure and AWS, it seemed to have a neutral stance on it. It did not show any bias towards any of them. Please refer to Figure 3 for reference.

Write a poem about Microsoft Azure vs Amazon Web Services

ChatGPT:

ChatGPT’s creativity is questionable.

Although it is able to spit out poetries and essays, its creativity is still not in the leagues of the writers’ nor poets’.

In other words, the rumors of ChatGPT replacing humans is just that — rumors.
